To acquaint the students of Malabar with German culture and civilisation.

COURSES OFFERED
Introduced as part of the curriculum in 1929, German is the only foreign language offered here. Moreover this is the only college coming under the University of Calicut where German is taught as a second language.

o Part-time / evening courses for professionals

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
o Apart from the regular courses , the department has been organising part-time courses in German 
    in collaboration with Max Mueller Bhavan, Chennai, and the Department of Russian, 
    University of Calicut.
o Evening courses for professionals conducted by the Indo- German Society, Calicut.
o Consultancy service of translation from German- English- German to the vernacular press, various
    research and private institutes.
